Why Singergie?
Singergie is a warm, welcoming, free-to-join community where everyone belongs, whether you’ve sung for years, haven’t sung since school, or have never sung at all.
Our choirs are about far more than music: they’re about connection, confidence, laughter, and creating a space where people can simply be themselves.
With no auditions, no fees, and no pressure, Singergie offers an uplifting weekly escape, a chance to make new friends, and the joy of being part of something bigger than yourself.
Improved Wellbeing
Singing together has been proven to boost mood, reduce stress, and give people a weekly lift they can look forward to.
Community & Friendship
A genuine sense of belonging, with warm, supportive groups where real friendships grow.
Confidence Building
Whether it’s singing out, trying harmonies, or performing in public, members often discover abilities they never knew they had.
Accessible to All
No fees, auditions, or barriers - Singergie is designed so everyone, regardless of background or ability, can take part fully.
I came to Singergie at quite a dark time in my life, and quickly found the joy that comes from singing, and a real sense of belonging within a fabulous group of people. Each and every time I come to choir, I leave feeling energised, valued, and grateful for having such an amazing group of people that I've come to call my friends.
Joining Singergie was one of the best decisions I have taken. I have spent my life singing as I drive, going around shops etc but never got round to joining a choir till recently. I had anxieties about my memory but have found I do actually manage to learn the words and harmonies and I'm sure it's actually helping my memory. Apart from that it's such a lovely, friendly, supportive group. Going to Singergie is the highlight of my week!
I was in choirs when I was younger but once I had children there never seemed to be any time, I just sang to them. Once I retired I planned start singing again but the choirs I went to never felt right for me. Singergie is different to any choir I have ever been in, for a start everybody is treated as equal, there's no hierarchy. It's relaxed and friendly which I think is why it works, everybody comes to choir ready to do their best. I wouldn't miss a Thursday night.

I knew within minutes of walking through the door of Singergie Choir I'd made the right decision. What a beautiful way to spend a few hours, chatting to new friends and singing. I enjoy every performance and opportunity to meet up with friends from the many other Singergie Choirs. It takes a strong, ambitious, passionate person with vision to guide so many characters to performance level, and we certainly have that in our Head Coach Lynne. Our Coach Maria, guitarist Chris and choir members will welcome all new members, who like me, decide for themselves to take that first step into a room full of strangers who very soon become Singergie Choir friends.
Singergie are an amazing group of people. And with Lynne at the helm I think she brings out the best in us. Singing is good for the soul.
Singing with the Choir is good for my body, my mind and my social relations! If tired during the day, I am full of energy two hours later.
Singergie is like a warm and loving hug which lifts your spirits and your soul. Amazing people who make you feel welcome, loved and supported. You always leave feeling uplifted.

I love to sing and having been without a choir for a few years I was so glad to find Singergie starting in Dunfermline, especially the morning choir. I don't drive and feel too old to be traipsing about at night in the dark. I think the morning sessions are inclusive for people in the same situation. I often recommend choir to friends and tell them that singing is good for both physical and mental health. It strengthens your lung capacity. If you're struggling mentally and emotionally it helps so much because for 2 hours you will be focused on your singing, giving your brain a break. The benefits of singing for sufferers of alzheimers are well documented. And it's well known that people with a stammer who struggle to speak are often able to sing. The social side is also positive. Loneliness is thought to be a huge problem these days, but choir helps people to make friends and feel connected. And when you stand with others, singing together, on the same note (hopefully), that's a beautiful thing
