Upcoming Performance: Gyle Shopping Centre (Fri 21 Nov)

Come along to the Gyle shopping centre on Friday 21st November 2025 at 3pm! A special Singergie event is just around the corner — and it’s shaping up to be one of our most uplifting musical gatherings yet.

We’re thrilled to announce our next big Singergie event: an uplifting community showcase bringing together singers from across our choirs for an evening of music, connection, and celebration. If you’ve never experienced a Singergie performance before, this is the perfect opportunity — warm atmosphere included.

Taking place later this month, the showcase blends new repertoire, familiar favourites, and a few surprises_ we’re especially excited to share.

What to Expect

The evening will feature a curated setlist designed to celebrate the best of communal singing: harmonies that wrap around the room, songs that lift the spirit, and arrangements that are both accessible and moving. Expect a mixture of pop, folk, and contemporary choral pieces. Some songs will be performed by the full choir, while others will feature smaller groups and duos, giving members a chance to shine in different ways. Performers have been working hard behind the scenes, and rehearsals have been full of excitement — and plenty of laughter.

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning after many events, you’ll leave with your heart a little lighter. Join us at Singergie

A Community-Centred Evening

At its core, this event is about more than music. It’s a space for friends, family, and newcomers to gather, enjoy each other’s company, and celebrate local creativity.

We’ll have a welcoming team on hand to greet guests, help with seating, and ensure accessibility needs are met. Choir members will also be around before and after the show to chat, share stories, and welcome anyone curious about joining Singergie.

Why Community Choirs Matter More Than Ever

In an age of loneliness, digital overload, and disappearing third spaces, community choirs quietly offer something profoundly human — belonging. Across the UK, community spaces are shrinking. Pubs close, high streets empty, social clubs fade, and people increasingly find themselves isolated despite living busier lives than ever. Yet there’s one place where connection still flourishes with remarkable ease: the community choir. W
